Mit Fassaden aus rauem Sichtbeton gaben Rojkind Arquitectos den kantigen Baukörpern der neuen Konzerthalle die Anmutung riesiger, schwerer Gesteinsbrocken. Der Kontrast zur James-Simon-Galerie in Berlin könnte deutlicher kaum ausfallen: Für das neue Eingangsgebäude der Museumsinsel haben David ­Chipperfield Architects Berlin eine filigrane Kolonnade aus Beton entworfen, die sich als leichte und luftige Aussichtsplattform an der Spree in den Stadtraum schiebt und neue Perspektiven auf die Umgebung eröffnet. Die schlanken Pfeiler des Bauwerks sind aus vorfabrizierten, mit weißem Marmor versetzten Elementen gefertigt. Gezielt knüpfen die Architekten mit dem Motiv der Kolonnade an die historische Museumsarchitektur an und übertragen sie in ein zeitgenössisches Selbstverständnis, das heutige Fertigungsmethoden einschließt. Elsewhere, current trends show how regional specificity and built archetypes are translated into ambitiously designed interior spaces. The projects presented in this issue of Detail Inside on hotels and holiday homes demonstrate this fact. In Montréal, ACDF Architecture orchestrate a thrilling dialogue between the Hotel Monville and the contextual features of its surroundings. Sugawaradaisuke Architects conceptualize a holiday home in Nagano, Japan — within a tiny space, yet with sophisticated views to the exterior. Aebi & Vincent Architekten demonstrate how a building ensemble from the 1950s was carefully renovated and expanded by creating an addition to the youth hostel in Bern.
