DETAIL inside, the review of architecture and interior design, is published twice yearly alongside DETAIL. The new journal will pinpoint the latest trends while providing architects and interior designers with all necessary technical information. This issue focuses on the living environment. The featured projects range from the conversion of a Swiss cowshed into a holiday home and a “pop-up” interior in Madrid to modern, innovative bathroom design solutions. A jaunt through Berlin’s new bar scene and a lovingly styled crèche in Bavaria provide further diverse examples of stunning interior creations.
Other contents: While heri&salli celebrate the rough charm of the structural fabric in five guest rooms housed in a Viennese vinegar brewery, selgascano’s office conversion in London excels by its curvilinear geometries and subtle use of synthetic materials, including saffron epoxy flooring, curved perspex walls and coated wood-wool ceilings. Marking opposite extremes in the wide spectrum of contemporary compositions, the two projects underline the pivotal role of materials for the interior. Interior finishings, unlike facades, are experienced at close quarters by users, through sight, touch and smell.[n° ou bulletin] 01/2015 - 2015-06-01 [texte imprimé] . - 2015.

Hotels (édifices) - Aménagement
Revêtements de solIndex. décimale : 747 Architecture d'intérieur Résumé : A place for holidaymakers in need of relaxation, an accommodation for jetlag-ridden business travellers that is more transient and functional: Hotels provide a broad canvas on to which aspirations and needs that range from escapism to business are projected. The success of a hotel concept is largely determined by how intelligently and smoothly the transition between the exotic and the habitual is handled and transformed into an exciting dialogue that doesn’t overwhelm the guest and transcends short-lived trends.
To achieve this objective, a clear and legible architectural language that expresses a credible relationship to its surroundings and knows how to carry that through to the interiors is required. The projects in this current issue of DETAIL inside are located at precisely this interface. Hotel Tuve in Hong Kong offers an exclusive antithesis to the noisy outside world with a sensual oasis of crafted ambiences and exquisite materials.
Basel’s Hotel Nomad achieves a balanced interplay between tradition and modernity in a converted 1950s apartment building. The digital age makes an informal entrance at Hotel Schani in Vienna: Customized furniture, materials combined in surprising ways and typical local architectural features generate a pleasant atmosphere that places the guest at centre stage.Note de contenu : inside 01/16

Note de contenu : inside 01/17

DesignIndex. décimale : 747 Architecture d'intérieur Résumé : The classic office was already declared dead, but is now experiencing a renaissance. Non-territorial office solutions didn’t become as successful as anticipated. The home office model currently meets its limits as well. Working in teams is gaining importance and demands respective places. In addition, offices are witnessing changes in workflows. Flexibility and spatial solutions that foster the communication between employees are increasingly in demand. Spontaneous informal meetings that stimulate the exchange of ideas and strengthen the team spirit are in the focus of attention, as Roland Pawlitschko concludes in his article.
This edition of DETAIL inside presents individually designed office concepts that are tailored to their respective users in terms of both layout and outfitting. A »co-working space« for three small businesses in Barcelona is zoned by shining yellow boxes arranged at an angle and serving as rooms for meeting and privacy. A stylized tartan track carpet in lawn green defines the spaces of a football app developer. In Dartford in England a giant piece of spatial furniture connects the two levels of an administrative office. It creates individual workplaces, but most of all dramatizes the way you access the space: the entire office becomes an extraordinarily vivid work environment.[n° ou bulletin] 02/2015 - 2015-12-01 [texte imprimé] . - 2015.

Architecture intérieure -- Matériaux
Matériaux -- DécorationIndex. décimale : 747 Architecture d'intérieur Résumé : Reflective surfaces and curved forms for China, noble and durable materials for Russia; Ippolito Fleitz carefully analyses local market mechanisms and develops bespoke retail concepts for each context. The fact that as Europeans we have to bring along a good portion of psychological intuition in order to be able to develop design concepts tailored to foreign cultures is described by Peter Ippolito in his text “Think Emotional, Act Local“. The practical proof of the importance of regional sensitivities is illustrated by the magically playful appearance of new jewellery label Dada and a scenography that perfectly serves the desires of female buyers that grew up in an era of Chinese turbo-capitalism.
As a matter of course we also look upon to Japan and Europe; in this issue of DETAIL inside we show projects that represent a general retail-trend towards concise forms and a consistent material language. Grey terrazzo dominates the surfaces of the David Chipperfield designed flagship stores for fashion label Valentino while a spruce wall element forms a focal point in the knife showroom designed by Yusuke Seki and expanded metal display tables define the store design for Swedish fashion brand Mouli. Together they provide a powerful argument in favour of the minimalist use of materials.
