The name Cartoonia is derived from the word »cartoon«. As you may know comics have been marginalized in most of the European countries and even forbidden in some of them. Therefore we felt a need to establish a safe, lively country, a fatherland of some sort to all cartoonists/comics artists of the world, as well as comics in general. The well-known citizens from these countries are in this essential guide of the land of comics telling stories about homelands of the other residents of the new Cartoonia land. The stories were inspired by objects and other specialties of the countries: architectural types, folk craft, archeological findings, food, cars, endemic species and cultural differences.
There are & Slovene and & foreign artists involved in this lively intercultural dialogue: from Slovenia, Kaja Avberšek, Jakob Klemencic, Matej Lavrencic, Marko Kociper, Gašper Rus, Matej Stupica,Andrej Štular and Jure Engelsberger. Authors from other countries include Bendik Kaltenborn (Norway), Mateusz Skutnik(Poland), Andrea Bruno (Italy), Matei Branea (Romania), JyrkiHeikkinen (Finland) and Filipe Abranches (Portugal).En ligne : http://www.stripburger.org/language/en/greetings-from-cartoonia-the-essential-gu [...] Greetings from Cartoonia : The Essential Guide of the Land of Comics [document graphique à deux dimensions] / Stripburger (Ljubljana), Auteur . - Ljubljana : Stripburger, 2009 . - 216 p. : ill. en noir, couv. ill. en coul. ; 24 cm + Map 46 x 60 cm.

Travail -- Dans les bandes dessinéesIndex. décimale : 741.5 Bandes dessinées Note de contenu : The Workburger International Comics Anthology features some of the finest masterworks of world-renowned artisans and craftsmen/craftswomen of the comics medium. This skillfully woven patchwork of diverse comic strip narratives, revolving around the topic of contemporary work, has been manually assembled from many serious and witty as well as provocative and investigative artistic takes on the topic.
Contributing artists, drawing from both theory and personal experience, have tackled this elusive term, bridled its creative momentum and harnessed its vast, explosive potential: one of work’s most useful and at the same time dangerous characteristics. The book, lucidly detecting and generously displaying the various permutations in the meaning of the term itself, is thusly a document of its own time while still remaining a future classic by dint of covering one of the most universal human issues from time immemorial.
“No workarounds! Only comics that really work!”
-Simon, a guy in a suit
“Someone must’ve been working out…”

“I knew that there was more to life than just working the turk! A real eye-opener!”
-Peter, trust-fund baby & master procrastinator
“All work and no play makes you a bad artist.”
-Unknown, art school toilet stall
