Résumé : |
The editor for this edition of the "International Design Yearbook" is the French architect and designer Jean Nouvel, whose search for direct archetypal forms has led him to the work of designers such as Henk Stellinga, Rudolf Sachs, Dieter Sieger, Ross Lovegrove and Enzo Mari. Among the themes that emerge are the importance of recyclable and low-energy design, and a concern for modular designs that can adapt to changing living spaces and different lifestyles.
His selection establishes a new view of design fundamentals, in which the function of a design, the quality of modern materials, and the intuition of the designer combine to form and inform the final work.
Full technical data is included, plus detailed biographies of the designers, a list of suppliers' addresses, and an update of design acquisitions at the major museums around the world. |
